The Telok Blangah Archery Club (Eagles Barebow Chapter) successfully concluded FOUR (4) runs of Barebow Tryout & Basic Barebow Course in 2018. We have gained good experience from running the series. Participation rate was excellent with outstanding support from our members.
We now move on to a club-wide project to generate greater participation in archery, particularly within the Telok Blangah community and targeted at our residents from ages 12 and above. The inclusion of children into the Archery for All (AFA) programme and the lifting of age limits will encourage more family and multi-generation participation. The Telok Blangah Archery Club’s focus will also shift to Olympic Recurve Archery as we have achieved our objective to promote Barebow Archery to mature adults and now have a significant number of TBAC members in the Barebow discipline.
The details of the AFA programme are:
PART 1
There will be a Fee of $20 per participant, for a 3-hour ARCHERY TRYOUT comprising:
Explanation/Introduction to Archery
Demonstration of Archery skills by TBAC Members
Archery shooting by participants under the supervision of TBAC Coaches and Senior Archers.
Please note that we are limiting it to 32 persons per Tryout Run.
Tickets can be purchased from the Telok Blangah Community Centre (every day) or from the Telok Blangah Archery range (weekends only).
The Tryout dates/time are:
Run No. 1: Sunday, 17th Mar 2019 – 9am to 12noon
Run No.2: Sunday, 23rd Jun 2019 – 9am to 12noon
Run No.3: Sunday, 8th Sep 2019 – 9am to 12noon
PART 2
Participants of the AFA Tryout Event can sign-up for a 4 x 2-hour session Basic Olympic Recurve Archery Course at $110. As the name implies, this will be an olympic recurve-centric course.
They can also exercise the option to sign up for the Basic Olympic Recurve Archery Course and provisional TBAC membership (3-month duration) as a package. The package fee will be $155, if the participant commits to it by the end of the Basic Recurve Course.
Normal provisional membership of $75 (or prevailing rate as determined by the TBAC) will apply if the participant decides to take up the offer of provisional membership AFTER the Basic Recurve course.
The Basic Olympic Recurve Course dates are:
Run No. 1: Sundays, 31st Mar, 7th Apr, 14th Apr & 21st Apr (10am – 12noon)
Run No. 2: Sundays, 7th Jul, 14th Jul, 21st Jul & 28th Jul (10am – 12noon)
Run No. 3: Sundays, 22nd Sep, 29th Sep, 6th Oct & 13th Oct (10am – 12noon)
