A squadron of 6 eagles participated in the SAC 3D Open 2016, which attracted almost 50 compound and traditional/barebow archers (connect with the Sembawang Archery Club here ). It was was our first outing to a 3D competition outside our club and we had a great time shooting in unfamiliar territory. The format comprised 10 targets in hilly terrain (with unmarked distances between 0m – 40m from the designated shooting lines). Hunting conditions were simulated with archers being allowed only 1 arrow per target in the qualifying. 3D Boar and Deer targets were placed without distance markings in varying uphill and downhill layouts. The top 5 archers in each category went on to a 3 target shoot off round with 2 arrows per target. TBAC Eagles did well and 3 of our archers qualified for the Traditional/Barebow finals, eventually securing 1st and 3rd placings. Well done Eagles!
Kudos go to the SAC for a very well run competition and we look forward to next year’s event.
